# Privacy Policy

iDadJoke fetches a joke from a public API and lets you save your favorites. That's it.

## Information We Use

iDadJoke keeps a few things on your device to make the app feel like yours. None of it leaves your phone:

**An optional first name.** If you enter one during the welcome, it's used only to greet you inside the app.

**Optional category preferences.** The joke categories you pick are used only to filter your feed on-device.

**Your saved jokes.** Jokes you save are stored locally with SwiftData so you can browse them anytime.

**A streak counter.** Your daily streak is kept on your device (in UserDefaults / an App Group) so the app can show how many days in a row you've dropped by.

## Information We Do Not Collect

iDadJoke has no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no advertising identifiers, and no third-party tracking. We do not collect, sell, or share personal information.

The only network request the app makes is a simple GET to the public jokes API ([icanhazdadjoke.com](https://icanhazdadjoke.com)) to fetch joke text. No personal data is sent with that request.

## Notifications

If you opt in, iDadJoke can send you a daily joke reminder. These reminders are scheduled entirely on your device using Apple's notification system (`UNUserNotificationCenter`) — there is no push server, and no notification data is sent anywhere. You can turn reminders off at any time in iOS Settings.
