# Skyliner — Privacy Policy

Effective October 2026

**Skyliner has no accounts, and we never sell your data.** Your progress lives on your device. Three things do leave it, and each has its own section below: the ads, which come from Google; an optional leaderboard entry; and, if you buy it, the Remove Ads purchase, which Apple handles.

## Ads

Skyliner is free, and ads pay for it. They are served by **Google AdMob**:

- a banner at the bottom of the city map, the rankings and the depot;
- an ad between some runs, never more often than every second run;
- reward videos you choose to watch, for coins or one more crane.

**Nothing ever plays during a drop.** Ads are limited to content rated suitable for general audiences.

To show an ad, Google receives your device's advertising identifier (only if you allow tracking, below), your IP address and the approximate location it implies, basic details about your device and this app, and how you interact with the ads. ## Your choices

- **Tracking.** iOS asks whether Skyliner may track you across other companies' apps and websites. **If you say no, your advertising identifier is never shared**, the ads are less relevant, and every part of the game works exactly the same. Change it any time in Settings, Privacy & Security, Tracking.
- **Consent in the EEA, the UK and Switzerland.** Google's consent form appears before any ad is requested. You can reopen it from Skyliner's Settings, under "Privacy choices for ads".
- **Remove Ads.** One purchase removes the banners and the ads between runs, for good. Reward videos stay, so you can still choose to watch one for coins.

## Purchases

Remove Ads is bought through Apple. We never see your name, your card or your Apple Account. Apple tells the game only that the purchase belongs to the Apple Account on the device, which is how Restore Purchase works.

## What stays on your phone

Saved locally, and never sent anywhere:

- Your city — which towers you built, where, and how tall
- Coins, depot upgrades, best height and total score
- Sound, music and rumble settings
- Your daily gift streak and today's goals
- A randomly generated identifier for the leaderboard (see below)

Deleting the app deletes all of it. There is no cloud backup and no way for us to recover it.

## The global leaderboard

Skyliner has an optional global board of tallest towers, hosted by us at `skyliner-scores.netlify.app`. When your personal best improves, the app sends exactly three things:

- your best tower height and score
- the builder name you chose, which is **public** on the board
- a random identifier generated on your device the first time you play

That identifier is a random UUID. It is not your Apple ID, not your device ID, not an advertising identifier, and it is not linked to anything else. It exists only so your own entry can be updated instead of duplicated.

**Please don't use your real name as your builder name.** It is visible to everyone on the board, and a nickname works just as well.

The leaderboard itself carries nothing else — no email, no contacts, no precise location. If you never play, nothing is ever sent to it.

## Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, Skyliner submits your best height and score to Apple's leaderboards. That is handled entirely by Apple under [Apple's privacy policy](https://www.apple.com/legal/privacy/). We never read your Apple ID, your name or your friends list. The game is completely playable signed out.

## Children

Skyliner is rated 4+ and contains nothing objectionable. Two things are worth a parent's attention: the builder name is free text and appears publicly on the leaderboard, so it is worth choosing together; and the ads come from Google, so declining the tracking prompt is the simplest way to keep a child's device identifier out of them. Remove Ads takes the banners and between-run ads away entirely.

## Your data rights

Delete the app to remove everything stored on your device. To have a leaderboard entry removed, email us with the builder name and tag shown on your board row and we will delete it.

## Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. We will not start collecting something new and quietly leave this page as it was.
