Information We Use
KeepOrBin accesses the photos and videos in your photo library so
you can review, sort, compress, delete, and lock them. This media is
used only for the features you choose, and all processing happens
locally on your device.
The app stores small preferences on your device, such as whether
you have seen onboarding, your cleanup progress, and your vault
settings. Your device's free, used, and video storage totals are
written to a private App Group so the optional Home Screen widget
can display them; this data stays on your device.
The Vault
Photos, videos, and files you move into the vault are encrypted on
your iPhone with AES-256 before they are saved in the app's private
storage. Each item has its own key, and those keys can be opened
only with your PIN or pattern, or with Face ID if you turn it on.
Your PIN or pattern is never stored. Folder names, and which
folder each item is in, are encrypted along with the items. With
Face ID on, the key that unlocks the vault is
kept in your iPhone's Keychain, usable only on this device after
Face ID succeeds; KeepOrBin never sees your face data.
We never receive your PIN or pattern, your keys, or anything in
your vault, so we cannot open or recover it. If you forget your PIN
or pattern, the vault can only be erased. The vault's encrypted
files are part of your iPhone's backups and stay encrypted there;
after a restore, your PIN or pattern opens them. Deleting KeepOrBin
deletes the vault.
KeepOrBin records the time of each wrong PIN or pattern attempt on
your device so you can see them. It never uses the camera. When you
share a photo or video from the vault, KeepOrBin removes its
location information unless you turn that setting off. To tell you
when a locked photo is still in your camera roll, the open vault
checks its own encrypted records against your library; no list of
locked photos is kept unencrypted.
Privacy Scan
Privacy Scan looks for photos that may hold IDs, bank cards,
passwords, or similar details, so you can lock them away. It uses
Apple's on-device Vision framework to recognize documents and read
text in photos stored on your iPhone. Photos kept only in iCloud are
not downloaded for it. The results stay on your device and are
never uploaded.
Information We Do Not Collect
KeepOrBin does not collect, sell, or share personal information.
Your photos, videos, files, and storage details are processed
locally and are never uploaded to a server by the app.
KeepOrBin does not use third-party tracking, advertising
identifiers, analytics SDKs, or tracking domains.
Deleting, Compressing, and Locking Media
When you delete photos or videos, the app uses Apple's system photo
APIs, which show their own confirmation before anything is removed.
When you compress a video, KeepOrBin re-encodes it on your device
and replaces the original only after a smaller copy has been created
and verified. Locking a photo moves it: the encrypted copy is saved
in the vault first, and only then does iOS ask you, with its own
confirmation, to delete the original. Photos you lock while
swiping are removed together, with one confirmation when you finish.
Deleted originals stay in Photos' Recently Deleted album for 30
days. You can keep originals in Photos instead in Settings. Files
you move in from the Files app are removed from their old place only
after you confirm.
Purchases
KeepOrBin offers a one-time purchase and an optional monthly
subscription to unlock its Pro features. Purchases, renewals, and
restores are handled entirely by Apple through the App Store; the
app does not receive or store your payment information.
Apple gives Novarch sales reports and purchase notifications, such
as which plan was bought, its price, and the country or region.
They do not include your name or Apple Account, and we keep only
totals, with no identifier for you.
